Quote of the Week:
“I cannot think the Devil may own a woman’s soul, Mr. Hale, when she keeps an upright way, as I have. I am a good woman, I know it, and if you believe I may do only good work in the world, and yet be secretly bound to Satan, then I must tell you, sir, I do not believe it.”
– Elizabeth (Act 2; 284)
I chose this quote because Elizabeth is being accused and she is willing to deal with critics (Proctor cheating on her), shows she’s confident. My interpretation to this; Elizabeth and Proctor have issues but she’s willing to do anything to clear her name and to not get hanged.
Elizabeth, she showed her determination to cleaning her name no matter what people would say later. She is standing up for herself. I think Elizabeth has a possible chance of dieing because Abigal is too slick right now and she’s evil. Elizabeth also is like very confident in her belief about witches (that they don’t exist). As for her relationship with Proctor, i think Elizabeth will get hurt, again.
